The pandemic taught us the importance of technology in our lives. The technology and progress made in the digital transformation have proven to be a great advantage during the pandemic. The telecom industry is now looking forward to accelerate their 5G deployments with new and more cost-effective ways of deploying and managing the networks quickly. This is where the concept of an open and virtualized mobile infrastructure, Open Radio Access Networks (Open RAN) becomes critical. Open RAN makes up the majority of the network cost and enables telecom service providers to diversify supply chains, bring in extraordinary levels of interoperability and agility to help reduce their capex drastically. Indian telcos are eyeing OpenRAN as a viable method to cut network-related costs and bring in more customizations as they upgrade their networks to 5G technology.
Keeping this as the background, Bharat Exhibitions has launch the 1st edition of Open RAN India 2021 Virtual Conference scheduled on 17th June 2021. The conference will be a dynamic forum for senior executives of leading telecom operators, enterprises, Govt. agencies to understand and formulate strategies to enhance the networks in line with business needs. A RAN provides radio access and assists to coordinate network resources across wireless devices. Devices primarily connect to cellular network via LTE or 5G New Radio connections. Silicon chips in the core network as well as the user equipment (like phone or laptop) help enable the functionality of the RAN. Open RANs can support multiple-input, multiple-output antennas, wide spectrum bandwidths, multi-band carrier aggregation and more. This evolution of Open RAN for 5G will have a huge impact on wireless technologies and these RANs of the future will also contribute to the lower latency that makes 5G so powerful.
The event is expected to attract 250 plus business professionals representing key industry stakeholders such as telecom operators, government agencies, regulator/policy enablers, technology companies, equipment and handset OEM’s, IoT Players, Test & Measurement Companies, International experts and consultants on a common platform to discuss and debate and work on actionable, relevant and structured framework for deployment of 5G networks across India.
